Established in 2014, the SisterHermana Foundation, Inc. is a grassroots social impact organization shaped by both survival and sacrifice. What began as a women’s support service was forever transformed on October 6, 2014, when founder and breast cancer survivor Veronica Glover lost her husband of 27 years, Horace, to colon cancer—a battle that might have been prevented with early detection.
In her deepest grief, Veronica made a vow: to fight cancer not through research labs, but in the heart of our communities. From that promise grew an organization dedicated to walking alongside cancer warriors and their families with practical, everyday help—support that is culturally sensitive, family-centered, and youth-inclusive.
At SisterHermana, we focus on bridging gaps in services by providing access to food, utilities, transportation, scholarships, and other essential resources that families need most. More than a program, we are a movement—transforming compassion into action and building a network of hope, help, and healing for families in their hardest moments.
Our mission is to uplift and support families battling cancer by providing non-medical assistance, education, and community-driven programs that strive to provide everyday life essentials.
The SisterHermana Foundation is proudly 100% volunteer-led and operated. Our volunteers are the heart of our mission, turning compassion into action every single day. Their dedication allows us to meet the diverse needs of those we serve and strengthen our community.
Whether they’re sharing life-saving information door-to-door, organizing toy and food drives, or offering hands-on support, their commitment embodies true service, solidarity, and care. With every act of kindness, they create genuine human connections that remind us all: no one fights alone.
