 Pathway to Prevention is the SisterHermana Foundation’s year-round health education and outreach initiative focused on cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection. The program delivers life-saving information to high-risk and underserved communities through workshops, health fairs, and partnerships with clinics, churches, and local organizations. It educates individuals about the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of treatable cancers such as breast, colon, cervical, and prostate, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings and timely medical care. By meeting people where they are and addressing cultural and economic barriers, Pathway to Prevention empowers communities through education, connection, and action. 

Our Family Support Services are here to make life a little easier for warriors and their loved ones.

From rides to treatment and grocery assistance to small home repairs, we work with caring community partners to help meet families’ everyday needs. Each family is matched with a friendly coordinator who listens, helps organize support, and makes sure no detail falls through the cracks.

  Friends of SisterHermana is a community engagement and volunteer program that creates a circle of support around families undergoing cancer treatment. It connects individuals, businesses, and organizations who want to make a difference through acts of service, resource drives, and in-kind donations. Members provide essentials such as meals, household items, transportation, and wellness gifts that ease daily burdens. Friends of SisterHermana also extends the foundation’s outreach by promoting awareness, sharing resources, and assisting with programs like Pathway to Prevention and the Hope for the Holiday Drive. Together, we build a community of care that brings comfort, connection, and hope. 

 The Horace N. Glover, Sr scholarship was created to support students from families affected by cancer, helping them continue their education with confidence and hope. Recognizing that cancer impacts the entire household, the program eases financial burdens while honoring the resilience of those facing hardship. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic promise, community service, and perseverance in the face of personal or family illness. Beyond financial aid, the program fosters a sense of belonging—connecting recipients to a network of support that encourages leadership and service. Many awardees go on to volunteer or advocate with the foundation, continuing the cycle of compassion, education, and empowerment that defines SisterHermana’s mission. 

  The Hope for the Holiday Drive is an annual program that brings warmth, relief, and joy to families in active cancer treatment during the holiday season. In partnership with local businesses, churches, and community groups, the foundation coordinates meal deliveries, household essentials, and holiday gifts for patients and families referred by hospitals and treatment centers. Each year, generous sponsors and community members “adopt” families, helping remove the financial burden of Christmas and ensuring they experience the season with love and support. All assistance is provided through in-kind donations rather than direct funding, ensuring transparency and immediate impact. Volunteers and partners come together at the annual Wrap Party to prepare and deliver gifts filled with care, compassion, and encouragement—reminding every cancer warrior that they are not alone during the holidays.
